Which 24 LCD?

I am looking for a good 24inch LCD.

After some research it appears that there are two popular models:
BenQ FP241W
Samsung 245BW

Which one should I choose and why?

I am looking for something that will work with games, but that also will preferably have good colors (for some photo editing).

I don't know about the BEST 24" LCD, but I just purchased the LG L246WP-BN on sale from bestbuy for $499. After extensive research I found that this monitor has the same panel as the BenQ, and from what I can see, it's bright and the colors are extremely rich. There is also no ghosting (as far as I can notice) in games. I've also heard good things about the Dell 2407WFP, but I chose not to go with this model because of reported ghosting issues.

Yes, I looked at Dell as well, until I found a thread where people reporting ghosting issues. The dell representative said they were still investigating hat issues. That wa unfortunate as previous 24'' Dell model was well regarded.

asdftt123, how does the image looks when you from the side? Does it fade? Samsung has the issue with image quality at angles, but I believe BenQ does not.

Second vote for LG.
I have a 24" LG panel also, great brightness and quality.

There are no issues with fading. The viewing angles on this panel are great. After comparing this monitor to my Dell laptop with a 15" TN panel running dual monitors in conjunction with this panel, it makes all TN's look like crap. Also in comparison, I can see the true accuracy of the colors against panels of lesser quality.

I _LOVE_ my BenQ. I want to get a colorimeter, because calibrating it properly is a little tricky.

More than anything, I got it for its plethora of inputs, including component video (1080p compatible, <3 Xbox360), HDCP compliant HDMI, S-Video and Composite for the legacy stuff, and of course DVI and VGA. It's also exceptionally sharp and bright.

The colors are for the most part excellent, but I'm still having issues getting it perfectly dialed in manually over DVI. A colorimeter is necessary if you plan on doing photo editing / color correction.

benqshopper.com is their company's refurb depot. I got a 24 for under $500 with a warranty. Love it.

How does your xbox look on the benq? I am thinking about getting a new monitor when I get a 360, but I want one that doesn't do strange scaling stuff. Does it have black bars?

Love my BenQ as well. What I really like is the very uniform brightness of the screen (ie. no bright spots from backlight bleed).
