Rofl.. 7850 does ultra fine at that resolution, it's simply a matter of overclocking a bit.. 7850 is an underclocked 7870 minus a few shaders, that's all.
Facepalm, huh?
Ultra in any game, eh?
HAVING to overclock to reach desired performance means so much, amirite?
He said "way more than enough", uh no it's not. Unless, of course, you like playing shooters at 30 frames per second?
Well, I guess you can use blurry FXAA.
Not to mention the only game OP actually mentions:
IGhzI said:
I gotta have the right card for arma 3
Perhaps you have no idea of the monster that is ArmA. Let's look at an older game, ArmA 2, to get an idea of performance from the 7850:
7850 gives an average of 49 FPS in ArmA 2, an older game. The system requirements have increased from ArmA 2 to ArmA 3, from Geforce 7800 / Radeon 1800 to Geforce GTX260 / Radeon 5770 (not to mention ArmA 3 now requires a quad core CPU). What does that mean?
Using our powers of extrapolation, we can assume that the 7850, which produces an average 49 FPS in ArmA 2, will have lower performance in ArmA 3. Do correct me if I'm wrong. I don't like playing at 30-40 FPS, I'm assuming most of us don't, especially not first person shooters. So no, 7850 is not "more than enough" at "ultra settings" for 1080p.
Don't get me wrong, 7800's are great cards, but let's not pretend that they make playable any game at highest details at 1080. Depends on what OP considers playable, and what games he is actually going to play.
