Ok first.. the Graphics card.. How much are you willing to spend. For ~100 there are much better choices (geforce2gts,kyroII, radeon le). For $147 you can get a cardexpert geforce2 pro/450 from newegg. This (IMHO) is the best card out if you not willing to spend 300+ on a geforce3. It comes with 4.5ns ram so you can overclock it to approx(230/480) Geforce2 ultra levels right out the box.
second Mobo... The abit kt7a-raid is a kt133a chipset mobo. While its by no means outdated, if you are starting from scrtach then go with the newer and faster DDR motherboards. the new mobos use the AMD 761 chipset, or the via kt266 chipset. The top raid choices out now seem to be the Soso ky7-Dragon(i have this one, although not running raid currently), and the epox 8k7a+. If raid isn't essential, then also look at the new ECS (sis chipset .. little help here) mobo, and the non "+" version of the epox board. If somone else knows any better raid baords.. jump in. I thing the abit kg7 is also a raid board, but i dont know much about it, as it is just now becoming widely available. ALso DDR ram is acutally cheaper now then SDRAM.. off setting the more expensive DDR mobo costs a bit. ONLY GO WITH pc2100 DDR ram or above..
third.. power supply.. bigger is usually better. Current systems pull a ton of voltage these days. while a 300w may work, once you start adding in a second cdrom(burner), 2 drives for raid, case fans, etc.. 300ws isn't enough. It will also somewhat future proof your power needs.
4th i like the roomier cases.. much easer to work with. My personal favorite is the Antec sx1030b. Lots of space, and places for fans.
hehe slow day at work .. hope this helps
