Which card does everyone have?

Disclaimer: I'm not calling anyone a fanboy here, just commenting on the overall tendency towards AMD hardware (myself included)

the last two AMD purchases I have made were because, well, I was in the market for a GPU in X-X price range, and they owned it performance wise

my 8600GTS was because it was the only DX10 card I could afford at the time when it first came out, and I think ati's drivers were totally borked then too for vista(not that much has changed :sneaky: )

I do have to say, I miss nvidias control stuff, CCC sucks balls

GTX 295.

My GTX 280 has recently died (still under warranty), and since I don't want to be PC-less for 2-4 weeks before it returns from RMA, plus I wanted to upgrade it anyway, I simply bought the 295, on 5970 launch day. How ironic.

When Fermi comes, I may upgrade again, depending on price, performance, power consumption and noise.

4870 1gb. besides more heat and noise than my previous card, a nvidia 7600gt, I love it. A little bios modding, and I can easily reduce fan profiles and voltage to yield less heat/power consumption/noise, and perform better than stock. I'm a fan of single card configurations

GPU fanboy-ism has always confused me. My last three video cards were chosen for the following reasons:

ATI 9700 pro: stellar reviews, and I was building a new comp at the time, so I bought it.
Nvidia 6800GT: Got stellar reviews, and I found a deal where it came with Doom 3 for free.
ATI x1900xt: stellar reviews, so I bought it.

I'm currently building a new computer and I will likely be choosing an ATI card because they seem to have the best offerings right now and I don't want to wait for Nvidia to show their hand.

So yeah, 3 of my last 4 cards will be ATI cards, but it's not because of blind loyalty to the company. If Nvidia had a current, clear frontrunner in the GPU market right now I would just the same go with them.

I doubt very many of these cards were purchased in the last few weeks.

Actually the poll only proves that this forum is over run by ATI fans. NVIDIA last quarter still had a large majority of the marketshare in discrete graphics cards. The steam survey reflects this as well.

Also The GTX280/GTS250 & 9800GTX were not in the poll for some reason.

x1800xt 256mb... heh. waiting for supply issues / pricing for ATI's 5xxx series to sort themselves out, then i'll probably grab a 5850 if/when it hits $250. or 5770 if/when it hits $150.

Of course you do, but you have to say something that is completely and utterly irrelevant and was implied by absolutely no-one. That's just who you are.
