Ehh...the Super.Fi 5EB would be the route I personally wouldn't take. Although it sounds alright, it is extremely bass-heavy and doesn't have much of a sound signature after that. Think...canalphone version of the K81DJ on steroids. At $130, I would've just went with one of the several single-driver options out there...you know, single drivers don't always sound worse than multiple drivers. The Shure E4C and Etymotic ER-4 are two highly respected IEM's in the headphone world and both run off one driver. Multiple driver canalphones like the E5C and Super.Fi 5EB and even the Westone UM2 are known for being pretty inbalanced towards bass. The only multiple driver canalphone that does the job right are the Shure E500 and the various Ultimate Ears, Westone, and Sensaphonics custom models.

But whatever. I hope you like them.

Wait till you hear them. Most likely, since you've never really tried anything else, they will sound great to you. But there is a big difference between "a lot of bass" and "good bass."

Good choice! I went from the Shure E2C's to the UE Super.Fi 5EB's, and I'm quite happy with that decision.

The downsides to them are that they definitely don't keep out as much ambient noise as the Shures did, and the thin cables they come with snap easily (I broke mine two weeks into owning them, but thankfully they're detachable from the canalphones themselves and replaceable). I vastly prefer their sound though, and they're more comfortable to boot.

Sorry to hear that man. Am satisfied with my ATH-CK7s.

I think people want a wide soundstage/airy sound but I don't think you can get that with lots of isolation. I need the latter and have to sacrifice the former a little.

OT: You gonna pick up an EF 16-28 F2.8L MkII? I am personally disappointed this is the best Canon could offer with its new baby.

Naw, the 16-28mm is way too short of a range for me. I'm looking at the Tamron 17-50mm right now. I have no need to go with full frame lenses at the moment. I'm disappointed too. I wish Canon would come out with something like the Nikon 18-200mm VR.
