My first play through took 24 hours which, of course, includes watching all of the cutscenes and done on 'normal'. My second play through was 3 hours and 47 minutes. I skipped all cutscenes and codec scenes and played on very easy.
The point is that there is very little game to MGS4. People bitched and moaned about COD4 being short, but praise a 'game' that can be played in under 4 hours.
And the name calling isn't necessary. It just shows you're too sensitive.
Obviously, the first run through took longer because it was your first time through the game and you weren't messing around on easy. There are approximately 6 or 7 hours of cutscenes in the game, which includes the intermissions and unskippable cut scenes. This means that you played for around 15 or 16 hours the first play through.
If you put the game on easy and just breezed through the areas being spotted, shot at, etc, then you are skipping a large part of the game and are, of course, going to have an obscenely short total time. This is called a
speed run :Q and is not a good measure of how long a game usually lasts.
For example, there are 7 minute speed runs and many other very short speed runs for other games. Since Morrowind has a 10 minute cutscene in the beginning, this makes the game more cutscenes than gameplay!!
If you look at how few people have the big boss emblem, you will see that beating the game on a not ridiculously easy mode (hard mode, no alerts, kills, continues, etc) under a strict time constraint (5 hours) is a very, VERY difficult task that requires much planning and forethrought.
And you act as if people don't bitch and moan about MGS4's cutscenes, exactly like you are doing. Even before the game came out, people were bitching about MGS4's cutscenes.
You are correct about one thing. The name calling was unnecessary. I apologize, but I found the fact that you called MGS4 "not a game" to be extremely idiotic.
This doesn't mean that you are though, I suppose.
