Which memory?

I can't decide which memory to get. I play a lot of games and I am going to overclock. I got a DFI Lanparty Ultra-D with an X2 3800+ oc to 2.5ghz. I'm not buying any other memory, I've already got the money and ready to go to the store to buyy either one of the two. Which one do you think is better?

1) Mushkin XP4000 Xtreme Performance Black Series DDR SDRAM, 2GB Dual Pack $289.95

OR

2) OCZ 2GB PC4000 Gold Gamer eXtreme XTC Edition Dual Channel DDR Kit $269.95 After $30 MIR

I was originally locked on the Mushkin memory, but the OCZ Gold XTC suddenly went down $10 in price, and has a $30 mail in rebate. Am I really going to see a performance difference between the two? Especially for overclocking? Thanks guys.

Meh, I'd prefer crucial ballistix tracers or mushkin redline, but if you won't choose any other memory, I'd go with #2.

Well isn't mushkin redline actually an improved version of mushkin black? They are essentially the same, but the redline has better cooling and tighter timings.

WTF??!!! a month ago I bought the same 2x1gb Mushkin black series XP 4000 for $215 on newegg. why did it raise so much??!

It's in Canadian dollars LOL. And newegg does have good deals, but they don't ship to Canada, which sucks terribly.

Mushkin Redline 2 * 1 GB is Infineon, Black is Samsung UCCC

Well, I'm not 100% sure what chips the OCZ parts are based upon. But I know this, the A64 platform doesn't really give much more oomph in real world application when you lower latency or increase bandwidth. The main advantage in getting DDR500 is having a guarantee that the RAM will follow the CPU 1:1 up to at least a 250 MHz bus speed, if that matters enough to you to spend the extra dough.

Number 2. I like OCZ. No reason, I just like them. The rebate is a reason to like them more.

I personally like mushkin but it there is a lot of support for ocz/dfi. Tons of people have the same combo and can help you out.
