I bought the Viewsonic P95F+ for someone and got to play around with it for over a week. This monitor ROCKS! It has amazing sharpness and quality for a CRT. Btw, this is essentially a "trinitron" monitor - it's a .24 dot pitch aperture grille, which is basically the exact same thing as many Trinitron monitors.
Viewsonic make some of the most reliable CRT's in the business IMO, and offer a 3 year warranty. I think NEC also offer a 3 year warranty, and also make good tubes (especially the trinitron ones), so it's a tough call.
I got a 19" viewsonic G790 (the first 19" from viewsonic, right when they first came out) for ~$1000 CDN (~$650 US) and it still runs great to this day, 6 years later. I bought a couple of KDS monitors for other machines since then and although they were a good value, one of them died and the other just can't compare to the Viewsonic...
