Which mouse?

My father recently told me he'd pay for something for xmas I choose, as long as it's not really expensive, and mouse just happens to fall into such category.
I'd normally never buy one for this much, but since it would be free, what's the general opinion on Roccat KONE XTD?

The Roccat Kone is suspected to have positive acceleration in built. Haven't tested it myself but the guys at esreality seem to be avoiding it.

Interestingly, I can't find a single review where this mouse is discussed in depth, nor can I google any forum links about its sensor.

esreality is a complete mess in many ways. About the only useful part of it IMO is the forums and the hardware subsection of those forums where mice are sometimes discussed. But much of the data comes from testers at OCN so you aren't always going to find it on esreality as the guy that posted the flawless sensor post gathered his data from all over. But I wouldn't ignore it, he did a lot of work determining that list and read a lot of posts about mice from all over the place, we ignore the warnings at our peril. Would be nice to get it updated but I guess the OP is long gone.

All I could find about the XTD were various forum posts how great it was. Sadly, noone seemed to had done any of the special tests I don't understand at all, but which I would take seriously.

Guess I will give it a shot anyway - even if it's not perfect, it must be better than my G5, which is at least six years old hardware by now, and I assume things improved since then.

Unfortunately no. The flawless mice are based on very old chips, the more modern ones all have acceleration/prediction/angle snapping etc. What you want is a new mouse with old tech in it. That is a bad assumption all around.

But go ahead and chose the Kone, I like having the advantage on the battlefield of having a mouse that does what I tell it too and my opponents all having rubbish gamer mice, helps my kill to death ratio no end.

Some sources say XTD has A9800 sensor, while others mention something called Pro-Aim R3.
