the AX models are not quite liek the FSP models... im waiting for someone to find out why the AX models are so dirt cheap with ridiculous numbers. Seems very odd. The AX500 blue is good though, so i dunno.

If you're comparing TP2.0 versus Seasonic, SEasonic clearly wins. N ow for those of oyu bringing up Fortron please STFU because seriously, this is not an Antec thread. We're comparing against Seasonic, and oyu better be bringing in better/equal PSUs before you throw in cheap Sparkle/Fortron PSUs that dont even come close in voltage regulation.

Antecs for me have been reliable, great at voltage regulation and quiet.
Seasonic does the same but better.

Word of caution. the 500W S12 only g ives you 16/17A per rail respectively while the 600W gives you 18/18. I believe the 480W TP 2.0 already delivers 18/18 per rail. Just a thought if you're going to be loading your rails heavily.

the max combined load on the TP 2.0 480 on 12V is 33A, same as the S-12 500W.

Looks like the SeaSonic wins by a landslide. I think I'll go for the 600W since I plan to do some heavy oc'ing. Thanks for all the input!

Even with heavy overclocking the 600w is probably overkill. However, if the price difference between the two is small I would still go with the 600w.

From what I've seen the price difference between the 500W and the 600W is not large enough. I can spend the few extra $$ for the 600W and the dual 18A on the 12V lines.

Hmm..it looks like the rating is the max output.

Edit: Save money and get like a 500 Watt Seasonic. I doubt you will even break 420Watt under max load even with SLI.

-Kevin

I'd go with the 500 too.. infact I might go with a 500W Seasonic for my rig in the near future.

If there aren't any problems with DFI, I'd say get the Seasonic. I'm running a TPII 550 right now though, and it's a rock. The thing it came down to me was money. I got my TPII for $80 when the Seasonic was $130, and couldn't justify the price difference, but if you can, go for it.

There used to be but if you use the a2 version or later (basicly all currently sold units) the issue was resolved, theirs a thread of dfi street about it, and it only happend in some specific cases w/ a0 version and aprox a 50 50 shot w/ a1 versions of the psus I've got an a1 600W unit that works fine w/ my DFI-SLI DR

The TPII 550w is indeed SLi compatible.

LINK for a list of SLi compatible motherboards, video cards, and power supplies.

Edit: *CERTIFIED* compatible components, but I'm sure other powersupplies could handle a SLi rig as well.

Already posted in another thread .. but I'll just repeat it to justify my Antec vote:

I bought Seasonic S12 600W after weeks of research ((See my Thread). Everybody pretty much convinced me about it's reliability and quietness).

It worked beautifully for the first two days (all voltages in really tight tolerances .. as displayed by Intel Active Monitor). But all of a sudden nothing is working at all. I shut down the computer yesterday night, and now it's completely dead. The MOBO green light lights up as well as the start button light .. but that's it! Nothing else .. not even the fans turn on. Spend the whole morning doing tons of permutation combinations ... but to no awail. A huge waste of time and effort (maybe money .. let's see how ewiz customer service is especially for their ebay orders from mp3superstore) ...

On the other hand Antec 350 in my Sonata case used to work nicely with 8 hard drives and two video cards + lots of junk (... thats the reason I upgraded to 600 W + I wanted to add couple more fans to my syastem)

PSA: buying anything from case-mod is a bad idea. they have a 5 day return policy, and after that you have to go through seasonic...and seasonic is basically a bunch of asians that are semi-hard to communicate with. it took me days just to get an RMA number after my s12-500 crapped out and took out my motherboard after 4 days of operation. sweet stuff right there.
