To start off. there are now 5 fans (all 80mm), all silent ys-tech ones (20dBa) and there are plenty of power connectors available.
Its quieter now than my old pc, which had one 80mm fan and a baycooler.
I also replaced my mobo fan with a zalman heatsink. and have my crystal orb running at 7v.
The case i have is a cheiftec scorpio full tower, so you can check the fan locations if you want on their website. for those of you who cant be arsed, theres 3 80mm intakes, and 2 exhausts next to the CPU.

Secondly. i brought a Thermalright SLK-800 and another silent YS-Tech fan for it. it cools amazing. and is quiet. you can barely hear the fans running. the only sound sources that can be considered "loud", are the hard drives.

How the hell do you fit a 92mm fan on the SLK-800. its only ment for 60/80mm fans.

All in all. my PC is quiet, has very good ventilation and my xp1800 runs cooler than my old duron1ghz w/volcano2.

It's like the old SK6/80mm fan trick: just turn the fan 45 degrees.

I don't understand. What the hell is wrong with my system? Why is my xp1800+ running at 70C under load??? I got the same hardware. Maybe I got a bad chip. I guess thats the only explanation left. some bad 1800+s slipped out.

I have only the xp1800+ on an abit nv7-133R nforce board. Im baffled. This weekend im going to put it in my shuttle ak31 and see what happens. if it cooks in that mb too, then its gotta be a bad cpu.

Geez, why is everyones CPU nice and cool but mine

My CPU runs at 70C. But then I have a low noise HSF on it so I can expect it to run warmer. I should also point out that the Abit nForce based board I have now reads about 10C or so higher than my old Soyo Dragon plus.

I've had no issues other than the fact that the room the stuff is in gets real warm.

It might be reading your on-die thermistor instead of socket thermistor

That would be a treat, but i think its doubtful. Their is no such indicaiton of this in the BIOS.
