I believe this is a religion as it takes faith to know this.

Theist is a believer. An atheist is a non-believer.
And that's nonscence, it doesn't take faith not to believe in things that take faith. Just takes common sense.
How can believing in nothing take faith?

It is the same as believing in something

Sure. You should start a club.
Believing in "nothing" takes just as much faith as it takes to believe in "something".

It's not "believing in nothing". Saying that presumes that the theists are correct. "Oh well you have to believe in something if I do!" It's extremely faulty logic. There is no belief involved in saying there is no god.

You left out Taoism. Yes, it is still practiced, mostly in China.
But many of the oriental practices are more philosophies than religion - and Taoism is by design a philosophy - on this I'd have to agree with the OP's decision to exclude it from the poll.
edit: boo-urns to you, OP for adding it to the poll!
Buddhism is also considered more a philosophy.

This is absolutely false. "Atheism," rather, means "without theism," or "without belief in a god." It says nothing about any affirmative belief. Where in the world did you get the silly idea that it did?Originally posted by: Janet Reno
