Who cares what they think? It's the husband's choosing. Now, the husband will likely agree with the wife on whatever race she likes to imagine being, but it's telling that in the two examples given, the white male chose a female that is ethnically/biologically half-white.

Okay Nehalem. I can post examples of black women who aren't mixed race. But I'm sure you're smart enough to find that stuff on your own.

They're not justifying, just stating a fact. Do you think a Skinhead would like Paula Patton because she happens to have a white mother? Do you think he's only going to hate her half as much? No and no.

Paula considers herself black, I'm going to listen to her over some person on ATOT who'll do everything in their powers to make sure OP's post stays factually correct. At what point can a person be considered black? Nobody's 100% anything, so give me a number, and explain to me how exactly we're suppose to know person to person if they're black or not. Because apparently looking black isn't enough. And what happens when there's a half black half white woman who's doesn't look mixed at all. She has dark skin, a wide nose and really nappy hair.

I poked around OKcupid and I can only speak for my area, but I searched for black and I searched for White females. At least 400 times more White females came up. The graphs they created based off their user data are retarded. There's no way in hell that big of a difference could lead to accurate numbers.

Not to mention that Okcupid is filled with trolls creating fake accounts.

If you have no idea who Oabama was, off seeing a picture of him do you think you'd know he was half white? While he's not dark, he does have those apparent "black features" many have brought up in this thread. He doesn't look mixed to me and if I didn't know his mother was white I sure wouldn't assume it.

I had a good friend at work who was (and I assume still is) married to a Jamaican girl. I started a relationship with a girl that I worked at Wendy's with, but I got a lot of hate for it from my store manager (who was a black female). My brother has been living with a black girlfriend for the last 4 years.

I do think the popular culture pushes for black males more than black females. That's changing. EDIT: At least around here (and when I lived in FL), there's more male mixing into the white culture than female.

He has that kind of Thor's hammer nose (narrow at bridge, only moderately wide at the nasal cavities), large TridenT-style eyebrows, tan skin, rather narrow British-style eye shape, and a narrow white jaw. Obviously, he also has curly black hair, that really well-curved black cranium, and at a profile his nose is arched in a somewhat black way (although Nordic people share those traits too) but altogether that makes him mixed. If he was a nobody and I saw him randomly, "black" would not be the first thing to come to mind.

I'm thinking/hoping he's kinda making that point. If you take 15/16 white paint and 1/16th black you'd end up with light-grey paint. Not with white, not with black. Yet people focus so much on race that they can't call themselves or others American or even simply human, it has to be 'White', 'Black', 'Asian', etc. Most 'blacks' in Africa are mixed too, and most 'whites' and 'asians' around the world are a mix of different 'races' as well. There's a reason why there are so many similarities between for example Arabs, Indians and the Latin American population. They're all mixes.

I like many 'types' of girls'. I'm not too fond of very dark skin, but also not of 'extremely white'. I like a large range between that though. It differs per person, but in many cases sticking with a certain 'race' depends on both group culture and availability. Among religious groups there is often huge pressure (more on the women than on the men) to marry within the religious group. Stereotypical prejudices can accomplish the same, where the parents or the rest of the community pushes people into believing that certain 'races' are bad and that you should not mix to 'keep your race pure'. And that is done by people from all races.

Has anyone in this thread even done that? I saw pics of 3 females who had 2 black parents, and 1 who has a black father and white mother. I don't see anything close to 1/16th in this thread. And the guy who replied said one of them looked Indian or something, when both her parents were black. So from him I got that is a female looks like she might not be black, even if she is. She still isn't. This thread's very confusing to say the least

I get that you're joking, but this isn't uncommon at all if you have many asian friends. I know at least three couple (who have all been married for several years, with kids) of asian male/caucasian female and that's just the ones off the top of my head.

If you can describe yourself as a "dark dark dark skinned" black woman then you don't need to ask what the definition is.

He's also probably referring to those with very pronounced African features. Bigger lips, nose, etc. Someone can have come from African ancestry but if they have a lighter skin tone and more European features, it's fair to say they aren't the best example the OP was referring to. The cop couple pictured in this thread is what I suppose we're talking about

edit: I think the Gabrielle Union photo is the type of black girl we're talking about. Not just in skin ton but in facial features. Anyone further to the European side of the spectrum from her would not count. Going to the African side you can get much darker

Negroid features are not viewed as attractive (flat noses, big lips, frizzy hair) as caucasoid features (aquiline nose, thinner lips, long straight hair).

Then you throw in the behavioral aspect (see video from Atlanta tazing incident) and you will see why black women aren't as desirable.

I'm not saying all black women exhibit these traits (though the physical traits are more universal), but in major cities and metro areas, you see it enough (in the news, in public on the bus and trains in person) to make you start labeling and stereotyping.
