Who buys used cds?

I went to Hastings yesterday and they bought a few but didn't buy the ones without original cases, do any other stores or online stores buy used cds, it would be great if I could send them all in they look through them and send me a check.

A thrift shop might but don't expect hardly any money for CD's without cases.

Unless you have something rare, the amount of money you get for used music is insulting. I'd rather give them to someone who would enjoy the music.

Yeesh, I FLAC'd that stuff years ago. Retain a bit-for-bit copy of the CD and reduce the clutter.

Keep them, like records, they might be worth something more later. Though without cases, maybe not. Collectors would want them mostly for the novelty of having the case and and the booklet or whatever they put in CDs these days.

If you're just trying to get rid of em you'd probably have to practically give them away. Can always go to a local shop and see if they'll take them, and it will support a local business.

I have over 5,000 classical and Jazz CD`s and I can tell you right now.....I would be lucky to get a couple bucks a pop....talk about depreciation value..lolol

5K? And I thought with my collection of CDs and DVDs of about 2K (95% of them is still factory sealed) is a lot.

Not sure what my plan is. They are just sitting there, unused. One of the things that make me wonder "why did I buy that". Talk about buyer remorse.

Yep, mostly a mixture of eBay, Amazon, Goodwill/Savers/Salvation Army. I'll buy almost anything that's decent for a quarter or two at pawnshops or in bulk, generally pay in the ~$5 range for the good stuff, and have splurged a couple of times for $10+ CDs of particular interest that I don't see depreciating (rare(-ish) heavy metal stuff mostly with some cult following).

I've been buying tons of used CDs at Goodwill and eBay this year. Maybe 150-200. I bought about 3 CDs over the last 10 years prior. The reason? Legit, cheaper than a full album online, and I don't have to worry about them being scratched thanks to iTunes match.

Yes. We have a local chain of stores - CD/DVD Exchange. I've gotten a lot of good deals, sometimes rare or out of print stuff. I sold a few of my CD's to them, but they only pay about $1 - 2.50 ea. Not really worth it.

There are a couple eBay sellers that promote thousands of 1 cent CD auctions (starting bids). Shipping kills it if you don't combine.
