We all have our idols. Be they childhood heroes we still cling to or minor gods we've learned to pray to in later life. Okay maybe that's exaggerating things a bit but I think you all know what I mean. Who are yours?
David Attenborough - Grew up watching his nature documentaries while living in Malaysia. It's not a proper nature documentary without his narration. I will be sad when he passes. I credit much of my interest in the natural world, and science in general, with watching his documentaries.
Coen brothers, PT.Anderson, others - I won't bother listing all the directors I admire but these "two" certainly top the list.
Gabriel García Márquez - Reading 100 years of solitude was a mind altering experience. How such brilliance can continue page on page, without pause, is beyond me.
