How is it not informative? It's giving you the news through the eyes of someone who leans more to the right. It's not hard to look past, or to catch, the bias of certain reports. Just ignore the reports that you think slant the story to much or change the channel.

CNN does the same. Hell any "news" outlet that spent more than 2 minutes reporting on the death of Anna Nicole Smith deserves EVERYONE's disdain.

But this is the type of "news" our cable media outlets are good for...

I attempt the same every so often, but I quickly find myself nauseated by the sheer blatancy of its bias, its stark immaturity, and its syrupy-thick pandering to the simple minded and easily amused. Calling it infotainment would be a compliment for the whole charade because it really is nothing more then a political/propagandist utility.

Whenever I meet someone that expresses a sincere fondness for Fox News, they are immediately written off on the worth-holding-a-decent-conversation-with book since 9/10 times they suffer from self-inflicted tunnel vision and an overly developed sense of fear and/or resentment. No matter what the subject matter, conversing with a Fox News junkie becomes something akin to religious "debate" in that free and sincere thinking are met with armed resistance at the outset.

but that's just me...

I like Fox News. Bill O'Reilly is a blast to watch. But I get most of of my news from NPR when I'm driving or the local newspaper at work.

I watch Obermann to see him point out O'Really's hypocrisy. With Murdoch as the owner and Ailes as it Head how could it not be extremely biased?

Fox News is hardly biased. They have common sense, and the dude who made the show put some liberals and some conservs together, and had them argue. Unfortunately, the broads and dumbshats of the world, aka liberals, call that biased, because it gives both sides an equal voice, instead of one (theirs). The reason the conservs seem more on top is because their arguments are stronger, and appeal to those who have common sense. Thats why Fox seems more conservative. Because the liberals are actually put into place.

Hahahaha... *breathe*... Hahahahahahahahahaha...

Gotta love the well thought and well put post.

No, I don't think so at all. I think common sense = people who actually don't need mob mentality to convey their points.

Yes I am.

I don't see why all you stuck up liberals need to be such asshats. I'm not saying I wank off to the show, I hardly see it. But calling it biased because there are conservatives on it, is complete idiocy, and shows how retarded and insecure some liberals can be.
I never said the conservatives on the news are impartial, I said that its hardly one way or the other. Like I said, because there are conservatives, some of which who have sound ideas, are more verbal because their arguments make more sense on their own shows is hardly reflecting on the partiality of the news show itself.

I agree with many more, many news outlets do suck, and Fox is not an exception. I personally use drudge reports to get a more clear picture.

I'd reccommend also Tivo'ing CNN and Fox, and watch each one, see their spin on things, and then blend 'em together. But chances are most libs won't do that. Because they don't want to "get exposed to the other side's alleged stupidity"

You have to be a complete moron to think Fox news is informative. When you have the Fox News Chief comparing Obama to Osama bin laden, you know you're getting garbage.

I think its very informative in some aspects. watching one show and then slanting off the whole show is very narrow minded. Of course, you're suck an impartial and unbiased person yourself, aren't you?

Sorry but I disagree. I'm as up on current events as anyone I know, and get most of my info from Fox News. I understand they have "opinion" shows like O'Reilly and Hannity, but Shep Smith's show before O'Reilly, and Brit Hume's news hour are very informational.

what?!

now i know this thread is just shens/flamebaiting...

Of course they need a laugh track. They can't dregde up hundreds of losers who have free time in the middle of the day to come chuckle at john Stewarts facial cotortions.

All I can say is, I find most Fox hosts to be entertaining and light hearted, they have a bit of whimsy in all their reporting, and I find I don't get annoyed when I watch Fox news. Also, they have a lot of babes on air.

Their Saturday Morning "Cost of Freedom" business block is the best, you hear from the likes of the WWE wrestler Bradshaw, Trapper John from M*A*S*H, Ben Stein, and former presidential candidate Steve Forbes. Where else do you get such an awesome lineup?

lol

I like how Fox has dropped all pretenses of being legitimate and added a "Colbert Report" type show to their line up.

The only show I like on FNC is Fox News Watch, which is one more show than all of the other news networks combined.

Edit: I should also note that I'm probably more conservative than most of the people at Fox.

Wow, just wow
We might have waited too long already to get back to Bill O'Reilly since his first therapeutic hosing January 28th. He's so full of crap it's spilling out his mouth. Video after the jump.

On Thursday's show O'Reilly tried to tie the horrific fire in the Bronx which killed ten children whose parents were originally from Mali, West Africa to the American illegal immigration problems. He has no idea whether the families are here legally or not, and he said as much citing New York City's "sanctuary city" status.

Nonetheless, he used these deaths to bolster hiis contention that the "pro-amnesty, open borders crowd" and ACLU lawyers are defending illegal immigrants' rights in order to keep the families together. The other news item he used was a recent bust of a New Bedford (MA) business where numerous illegal immigrants had been employed. Sixty of the bustees have been released to care for their children.

The rest of the segment was a debate (unfair and unbalanced, although two opposing views were represented.) Attorney Susan Church, who supports amnesty and guest worker programs, was constantly interrupted, overtalked, misquted and badgered. Despite BOR's best efforts she did not stop speaking, though it was difficult to make out what she was saying.

On Friday O'Reilly read an email from a former fan who swore off O'Reilly forever for his callous treatment of the dead fire victims. O'Reilly replied with the ugliest, angriest rant yet (video below). Again he made the issue illegal immigration (even though he reiterated that he doesn't know if the families are here legally) and accused the viewer of being responsible, with his compassionate attitude towards immigrants, for the conditions that lead to the deaths.

But the news was not about immigration, it was about children dying in a house fire. O'Reilly, ever ready to twist everything to further his agenda, exploited those children to fatten his case against people who support a different outlook than his. The master of the "no-spin zone" is full of **it.
