I ment for ricer context to the word "pretending". This includes part modifications that do nothing, very little, or even hinder the performance of their vehicle. An engine swap with substantial gains is not a ricerly act. Now an engine swap and 300 pounds of stickers on the body would probably be rice. A lot of it is subjective.

I will say this though... The ones who are truly driving rice are the ones who will be the most defensive about it and prone to throw negative sterotypes back at other people.

thats the problem. YOU DONT have a wrx engine. i have more respect for a 2.5 rs that actually WENT fast instead of LOOKING fast.

Yes I know how my 2.5rs would do. I would get you off the line because of AWD and most likely the caddy would get me after 3rd. Straight lines arn't my thing though. And I didn't do anything to make my car look fast, unless rims make it look fast...

I think the meaning of riced out is being confused. I would consider rice a foreign or domestic car that usually is an econobox like a cavalier or civic and the owner puts stickers for products he doesn't have on the car, neon lights, huge spoilers, massive sound systems, huge chrome rims, slams it, etc.

rbrandon if you love you're car, great, enjoy it. Just don't start saying you're car is the ****** just cause it has 300hp. I could have bought a used Audi A8 with 300hp for less then the cost of my used RS and it would have been quicker in a straight line, but that isn't my thing.

2000 VW GTI VR6 - all stock except the upgraded stereo, rotors (factory rotors warped - thanks VW), and pads (to reduce brake dust - stock VW pads are dirty). And while I could probably beat a majority of the ricers driving bumble bee canned erector set winged Civics, Accords, Neons, Eclipses, etc - I don't. I know my car is slow compared to cars that are really fast so what's the point?

Here's a message to all the guys driving around with the coffee can exhausts, useless wings, neon, stickers, pillar gauges, seat back, gangsta lean, wrist over the steering wheel, etc, etc, etc... Your car is not fast - it's just loud. Also, you are not cool either - you only think you are. The only people who think you are cool and your car is fast are you and those like you.

I feel the same way. F&F & TFTF is the root of this rice issue. If it wasn't for those movies I don't think we would see all this crap. They are however entertaining movies, basically fun to laugh at all the dumb ****** in them and the horrible acting haha.

Hehe... Funny story... My brother and sis-in-law have a Honda Oddesy (minivan). Well he was merging into traffic and a riced out older Civic tried to get in front of him. He feels like me as far as the ricer cars so he floored it and beat the Civic in his van! Right about then it would be time to put the Civic back to stock and lose the attitude!

Don't get me wrong, there's some very quick 4-bangers out there that have a few mods and still look (and sound) decent or might look a bit exotic even in stock form but I don't consider them 'riced'. To me, riced is taking your average low performance economy car (I've seen everything from Civics, Neons, & Eclipses to Rav4's and ) and adding mods to it that do little for performance and appearance. In the end you still have an economy car - it's just louder and has a lower resale.

Yeah keep speculating. I don't need to prove anything to you. Bolt on store? As in murrays auto or pep boys haha. You are a moron. The rs is extremely rare and its not easy to find parts for it. Oh and the only reason I have clear side lights is cause when I got the car one was broken and the JDM ones happen to be clear. Think whatever you want, everyone that has seen my car in person loves it and is all curious about it because you don't see them much. 98-01 around 11-12k sold in the US.

Hey, you're the one who posted the video with the WRX driver who can't freakin' drive. A 16 second 1/4-mile is a hideous time (green light at 5 seconds in the vid, crosses the line at 21). I mean... jeez... he shifts from 2nd to 3rd at like 5k rpm. Pathetic. Someone forgot to tell him he was at the dragstrip.

If you want a real comparo, consider that the STS V8 costs $50k and up and (according to C&D) does a 14.8 1/4-mile. A WRX costs $25k and (once again, per C&D) does a 14.4 1/4-mile.

Now why don't YOU quit comparing apples and oranges and quit trolling this thread?

edit: and oh yeah, that's not an 04 WRX, it's an 02 or 03. The speedometer is in the middle (the tach is in the middle in 04 and later), the arrow is yellow on the Momo logo on the steering wheel (it's red in 04's and the Momo wheel was discontinued in 05), and the hood scoop is rounded (it has sharp edges in 04-05).

And btw, the STS ran a 14.691 at 94.80 mph (the video shows it as he crosses the line). Whoop-de-doo...
