Hey, you're the one who posted the video with the WRX driver who can't freakin' drive. A 16 second 1/4-mile is a hideous time (green light at 5 seconds in the vid, crosses the line at 21). I mean... jeez... he shifts from 2nd to 3rd at like 5k rpm. Pathetic. Someone forgot to tell him he was at the dragstrip.

If you want a real comparo, consider that the STS V8 costs $50k and up and (according to C&D) does a 14.8 1/4-mile. A WRX costs $25k and (once again, per C&D) does a 14.4 1/4-mile.

Now why don't YOU quit comparing apples and oranges and quit trolling this thread?

The speedometer is in the middle (the tach is in the middle in 04 and later), the arrow is yellow on the Momo logo on the steering wheel (it's red in 04's and the Momo wheel was discontinued in 05), and the hood scoop is rounded (it has sharp edges in 04-05).

And btw, the STS ran a 14.691 at 94.80 mph (the video shows it as he crosses the line). Whoop-de-doo...

so youre gonna make me think that if the tach on the wrx was in the middle, he would have beat that caddy? please. i was making a point to the fast and furious crowd that a 4000lb caddy isnt just a land yacht to smoke in. what was the rx-8's excuse? and dont bring price into it, for 50k, you get more than jsut power outta that car, its the comfort and everything else thrown into it. for 25k that wrx is able to be modded till it blows up, sadly a small minority of the fast and furious crowd know how to mod those cars to their maximum potential, id say 95 percent of it for them is all show, no go, then they cry when a 4000 pound luxury sedan blows em away at a light, a drag strip, or whatever, and blame it on the tach being on the wrong side, like that justifies it.

bone stock 98 integra GS-R sedan, if you've ever seen one. that car will take on most v-6's out there in the 0-60 and the 1/4 mile.

rice is the 6th gen lowered civic coupe at school with custom rims, coffee can exhaust, and an AUTOMATIC transmission.

please, i could make excuses all day as to why the lambo didnt smoke that wrx, just like youre making excuses why the wrx didnt beat the caddy. shouldve wouldve couldve me all you want, the caddy beat the wrx and thats all there is to it. i'll ask again what the excuse was for the rx-8, he absorbed more of a beating than the wrx did. whats the excuse?

I know you just drive a luxury land yacht where you push the skinny pedal to the floor and hold the wheel straight and the car does everything else for you, but (and this might be a shocker for you) some cars actually require real driving skills in order to get the best performance out of them. And even more shocking for you, some people don't like their cars to be comfortable.
My point was that driver-for-driver, dollar-for-dollar, the WRX is faster car than your Caddy. This isn't debatable, it's fact. Not that the Caddy drivers should mind, I would think. Performance was a secondary factor in their design.
The RX-8 I don't care about. What little children and Jeremy Clarkston think nonwithstanding, it's not a fast car.

Read carefully. That the Caddy driver made a good run (for the Caddy) at 14.69 and the WRX driver made a terrible run (for even a bone-stock WRX [or even a 2.5RS for that matter]) at 16.xx is not an "excuse," it's just a bad run or (more likely) a bad driver. You ought to try going to your local track a couple times this year so you can actually understand this.

OTOH an RX-8 runs mid-15's stock. Even with evenly matched drivers, I would expect an STS V8 to win.
