It was kept outside for the 20 years before I got it, why change that now? It's just a car and needs new paint anyway. Besides, it has a cover on it anyway.

The term RICE has been blooown waaaaay out of proportion, there are no true boundaries and definitions that are clear cut. Thus most people say that RICE is a Japanese Import, that's it period, referring to an "Asian" car because of rice. HOwever, this "CULTURE" that you speak of, is not defined by that IMO, the "CULTURE" is defined by people who will buy an economy car(OF ANY KIND) and then only focus on cosmetic LOOKS, usually not much is done to the engine for power, other than SOUND.

For example, you will see tons of CALVALIERS, FOCUS's, ESCORT's, NEON's, that are "RICED" out, I really think that's a horrible term, I mean it really doesn't describe the whole picture, it's used for Japanese Imports, and used for this culture you speak of as well. Unfortunately, heh, there doesn't seem to be another real term for it.

As far as a Japanese Import goes, by all means I don't consider it under the "RICE" movement that's brought out here, such as someone buying a car and making it have a huge WING, with flashing under LIGHTS, and a chubby BODYKIT, but NO POWER modifications...as this it makes it clear that this is done to domestics, and even european imports that we have here(IE: non GTI golf's)

For example, a brand new Honda Civic, or Toyota Corolla(no one even bothers doing anything to those) is bought by the American consumer for reasons other than "ricing" it out. Many just want a decent and reliable economy car, whether it be a mom or an executive(believe it or not I know some very rich pple who drive Honda civics for gas mileage purposes) It's just a practical commuting car, and a good one at that.

Now, having said all this, I believe all cars, that are NOT intended to go fast, BUT are dressed up to look like a CRAZY RACE CAR is "RICE"(again a term that I think that is poorly used nationwide), that includes some OLD BMW 318 with a WHACK paint job I saw some kid drive around the other day.

I will be driving a 270 RWHP 1990 TA at the end of the month. I have been working on a LT1 swap over the winter and I cant wait to get it on the road. Has 3.73 gears, new exhaust, and lots of other small mods. I know its not the fastest thing on the road but I know I will enjoy the hell out of it. That is all that matters right?

96 Chrysler LHS! 3 TONS of KICKAZZ!! A few internal mods fixing/relocating air intake tweaking the computer getting some slightly better parts like spark plugs ect and your doing 0-60 in about 5-6 seconds and a mid 11 1/4 mile. Not bad considering its weight and the fact that I get 28-32MPG. I love killing ricers...its funy as ****** lolz. I rev the engine a tad and they get all slap happy have an orgy in their pants and then the light turns green and all they can hear is a deathly roar (this thing really makes some noise! No whinny crap pi**er noise from the tail pipe this is like good old muscle shake the neighborhood noise from the engine) and all they see is a big fugly grandma car smokin their A**!! The stupified look and confusion is great. I love my car.

If anyone wants some real competition though, my sister has an old camaro (60s?) that she restored...its a big "sleeper". Her boyfriends dad worked for keith black and they built an engine for it, looks totally stock but she gets 8s with it! Street legal and runs on 92 octane. CRAZY

My flowmaster original 40 ended up sounding a bit on the ricey side, but there's very little drone.

Otherwise, no rice mods at all.

It's not a bad year. Many people who talk sh1t about them don't know anything about them at all. First, there was never any problems with motors catching on fire like so many say was the norm for the car. 2nd, they're not as slow as everyone thinks. There is someone on the CorvetteForum who has his in the 13's and many people have them in the low-14s, running right with an L98. I, on the other hand, am taking the easy way out and swapping the motor out for a different one.

About it being outside, what business is it of yours? It's my car and if I want to leave it outside, why should it concern you? I've already said it needs new paint. I'm 21 and live with my mom and step-dad. If you can talk them into letting me park it in the garage and have my mom park her brand new car outside, go for it spaz.
BTW, I took that pic when I was doing some work on it, and I do normally have a cover on it.
We've got customers at our dealership who will park their Porche Turbo under a pine tree at their house. It's their car and they can do what they want with it.

What do you drive? I know theres a lot of cars that can beat mine...and Im definately not gonna claim to be the fastest. That said I think it performs very well for the type of vehicle it is. It definatly kills ricers. And by that I mean all the idiots that add fart pipes extra weight and drag with hideous body parts and then think theyre hot. A few of em actually add some performance instead of taking it away...but out here the best ricer I found could only do like 12 second 1/4mi. I wish i could list specs but Im not actually the one that worked on it It was my sister and her boyfreind who made it go. One thing Ive always wanted to see is a car like mine do a wheelie. That would be so kickass. My sis is a very good mechanic, great with just about any vehicle but really good with the older cars that didnt have all the fancy electronics. She even works on hydraulics and the big tractors.

EliteRetard, not to doubt you, but I'm gonna have to ask for pics of the engine/suspension/etc and timeslips to believe that car does mid-11s in the 1/4.

That and a 5-6 second 0-60 is more in line with a low 14 or high 13.

Unless you're making such prodigious amounts of power that you're just liquifying the tires for the first couple hundred feet. In that case you should work on your launch technique and/or invest in some slicks and you'd probably be into the 10s easily. What are your 60'/330' splits and what do you trap?

Yeah, I dont have anything to validate my claims...so I might just be blowing crap out my ass...or I might have a big car that can do 11-12. Not much else I can say

I'm the EliteRetard...so you decide.

Rice is High Octane , didn't you know?

1992 Eagle Talon TSI (4 cyl 4g63 dsm engine)
5-speed
All wheel drive
Ported Intake manifold
MMR Tubular stainless header
Ported Head , with 1mm nitride coated and swirl polished valves
Knife edged and balanced crank from Forced Performance
Custom side mount intercooler (keeps the stock look)
Intercooler pipes
BIG 16g turbo
3.5 inch stainless full exhaust , catco high flow cat , and Thermal R&D straight through muffler.
AutometerUltralight series gauges (AirFuel meter , EGT , Boost , Oil Pressure)
Apexi SuperAFCII air/fuel computer

I don't think it's really rice though.....I've got some 18 enkei rims , and kept the car's body stock. Although it sounds like a Porche 911 turbo on steroids.....DEEP.
I've got my own opinion of Rice....and that's the people that take a Honda , and put the wing on it and the muffler from autozone , and some neon lights that plug into your cig lighter , and try to race other Chevy Cavaliers at stoplights......perpetrators is what I call that ******.
