that ktm looks like a blast!

that's cause it is

the throttle response is crazy, open the throttle aggressively in 1st/2nd/3rd/4th and the front wheel's airborne, 5th/6th require a small crest but it'll happily lift anytime, it's like riding a BMX bike only a lot lot faster, slipper clutch so sliding it round a go kart track most weekends during the summer

couple more shots:

TL1000s converted to a nekkid - has 'proper' style handlebars, round headlight, all that jazz.. Ton of fun.

And a 1098 that I'm seriously considering selling. I like it but don't ride it nearly enough compared to the TL. I may change my mind when spring/summer rolls around though.

yep, when you fall off (and you will, if you don't you're not trying hard enough) the bike sits on three contact points, the axle slider on the front/rear and the handguards that have a solid metal bar running round them, nothing else gets near the floor except the peg that folds back out the way, pick the bike up and carry on racing...

Just recovered my stolen '06 Suzuki SV650S amazingly enough in great shape.

Oh, I also have a lot of pictures from when I sold my 2005 Suzuki SV650S. I had that bike for only about 6 months. It was a lot of fun, but it just wasn't what I wanted.

I chopped the rear fender, added the chin spoiler and added the exhaust. The rest was like that when I bought it.

2007, first year of EFI on the Sportsters and the last year of the small tank on the Roadster models.

I fell in love with the looks of the Roadster when they were introduced in 2004, but I think that Harley ruined the look when they switched to the larger tank in 2008. For whatever reason, the Roadsters never sold all that well and they were discontinued after 2008. Works for me, maybe one day mine will be collectible, if not, it's still fun to ride, which is all that matters.

EFI sure is nice. No more fiddling with chokes, engine starts immediately no matter what.

If I had to guess, I'd say the mid controls are why the Roadsters didn't sell that well. The same thing happened with the Night Rod, a mid control V-Rod, two years in production and then canned. For some reason, people that buy Harley's want forward controls.

I've never understood that either. Forward controls take away the ability to put the weight on your feet when going over dips or bumps. With forward controls your ass and your spine take all that extra jolting. It's a really stupid design. Then again, ape hangers are an even dumber idea.

There are some really poorly thought out concepts on American cruisers and definitely with choppers. They look cool but that's about it.

On the freeway for long-distance cruising it's incredibly comfortable. I just don't see myself using my cycle mainly for that purpose.

Actually, forward controls are very comfortable. My bike has mids and highway pegs, and I really like the highway pegs for around town/low speed riding. I like them so much I'm putting dual controls on the bike. I don't like the highway pegs on the highway, it's to hard to keep my feet on them at anything over 65. It's also nice to be able to change positions on a long ride. I often ride with one foot on the highway pegs and one on the mids.

Great Choice.... Depending on your riding style, you might not like the stock rubber, look at the Rosso as a replacement.
