Who pays the bills?

For you guys that are married, or dating, who pays the bills? The male, the female, both? None??

I'm talking about dinners, house bills, anything.

My dad pays for everything, because my mother is doesn't work (she's a housewife). Rarely though, if my father has lended my mother money, and he doesn't have enough, my mother will pay for dinner, but we hardly go out for dinner because my mother likes cooking.

we split when we go out who whips out the cc (a joint account) but i pay all the monthly bills though

Married with joint accounts, it all comes from the same place really. We both work.

We both pay different bills. She mails checks to certain ones. I pay online with others.

doesn't matter who pays becuase we have a joint account, so either way we're both paying.

Both our money, as we both work, but I handle the actual check writing and mailing.

Anytime my mother needs money, she gets it from my dad. But they do have their joint accounts

because i bet the person writing the check isn't the one who made the money some times.

We have joint accounts... but my wife is the one that sits down each month and writes the checks for mortgage/electric/gas/cc/etc.

When we were first married, I used to do it... but she didn't like the way I did it...so she took over. Fine by me... as long as everything gets paid.

My wife physically pays the bills for the most part, but they come from our joint account where my salary accounts for approximately 60% of the $$$.

I have started to take it over, but she has a filing system that NEEDS to be adhered to, and I'm thinking it won't last long

Edit: she usually pays for dinners out etc because I often forget my wallet

Same here, but my wife handles the payments. She doesn't trust me to pay them on time so she just does it and then complains about how I never pay the bills. She never asks me to do it and I always paid my own bills on time before we ever met. She usually pays them as soon as they come in the mail before I even get home from work so I never even have the chance to pay them if I wanted to, yet she complains that she has to do all the bill paying. . .WTF. . .how can I win? Isn't marriage lovely?

I pay them, because my wife is too forgetful. But we do have a joint account.

Both of us technically (joint account). She actually writes the checks and mails the bills, but that's because I don't have time to. She works part time, I work 50-60 hours a week.

Since we share a bank account we both pay the bills. However, I am the one that writes the checks and electronically makes payments. Typically I don't think she has any clue as to how much money we have at any given time. Although, she does ask me before making any purchase above $100 or so.

I make significantly more than my DH. The way it worked before he quit his job (it was a crappy situation, I was glad he quit) was that my checks paid the bills, his went to cc or to pay off other non-regular bills (dr bills, etc). Obviously, now mine pays all the bills. However, we each take a certain amount of money each check to do with whatever we please -- he spends it on his car, I save mine and buy bird toys or stupid expensive things I don't even use (camcorder, etc).

I make more money, so financially most of it is from me. (like 3/4 ?)

But she sends out checks through the mail for stuf we cant pay online, it take care of most online stuf and CC bills
