Disappointed but not surprised. Hillary is going for the moderate independent vote.

He, like Hillary are what Washington needs but neither are what the people want. Washington needs people who want to get things done and who see compromise as a necessary tool. The people want their team to kick ass.

Its a safe bet other than the fact that I don't think it will inspire people/dems to get out and vote.

Please. Trump provides a whole different kind of motivation for people who aren't out of their fucking minds.

Yeh, sure, you might have a point had Repubs nominated Jeb, but that's not what happened.

Kaine just proves Clinton is a tool for Big Business and Wall-Street.

Kaine wants to loosen bank regulations, against abortion, etc... among many right winged things he believes in.

Voting 3rd Party this year. Both R and D put up about the worse people you can. Hope Gary Johnson gets in the debates now

As someone that lives in VA... hahahahha. Kaine is a right wing "Blue dog" of the Dem party.

yeah. no. Kaine has a 100% rating from the Brady Campaign and a F from NRA. 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign and Planned Parenthood. He has 96% rating with the AFL/CIO and 96% with the NAACP. He is fairly progressive coming from a purple state. He is a good choice in my opinion.

Why is it wrong to be concerned about climate change, but recognize that people need jobs? Why is it wrong to be personally against abortion, but still respect a woman's right to choose?
The last 8 years have been dominated by uncompromising polar extremists who believe that their every opinion should be the law of the land. I believe we really need to change that.

Thank you Vic for your, as usual, intelligent input. It's endlessly rewarding, to me anyway, to have adults in the room. It's hard for me to try to maintain my sanity toward all banking while also suspecting that they are responsible for buying off proper banking reform. I have to remind myself over and over that I have no real idea what proper reform is.

I was expecting Hillary of Wall Street to pick a fellow Wall Street lackey, and she did not disappoint.

I am a dirty rotten progressive liberal and I liked much Hillary picking Tim Kaine.
I have noticed Tim on TV and expressing his views, and I always thought of Tim Kaine as quite a liberal guy and very attractive for progressives.
Kind of like a Ted Kennedy, but without the booze and without the scandal.
This is a good choice, and it will pay off for Hillary.

I just had to turn into Fox News to see how they were reacting, and right away I could see their worry showing thru.
This pick worries Fox a lot, you can see it in the eyes.
Naturally, Fox and their people will not admit this fear and they keep on yapping about the lefties and the Burnie's not approving of Kaine.
Ha ha. They only wish that were the case....

One HUGE problem for this Fox analysis, a problem that Fox so conveniently ignores, the "other" option.
Believe me, when Bernie supporters and lefty liberals compare the Hillary/Kaine choice to the Pence/Trump choice, anyone that would believe Pence and Trump would take away those lefty Sanders votes from Hillary are completely delusional.

And the real fight hasn't even begun....
Remember, and I am absolutely positive that Hillary and Kaine will remember, that Pence signed and enacted his states so called "religious freedom" law, where as Kaine vetoed such a law in his state.
Once Sanders and lefty voters are reminded of that fact, to believe Sanders supporters would flock to Pence and Trump is totally insanely and ridiculous.
The very kind of idiotic logic Fox News is so good at spewing out there.

Republicans are terribly divided. That is fact.
Democrats are united.
And even Sanders supporters are coming onboard with Hillary.
Now, with Hillary choosing Tim Kaine, that will prove to be an incredible and winning partnership.
And what really worries Fox and republicans, that now a lot of republicans who simply cannot support Trump will indeed align with Hillary (never to admit that).
With a proven sound, down to earth choice as Tim Kaine, many republicans will see that as a positive.

Personally, I think Hillary just won the election tonight.
She will earn the votes from Blacks, Hispanics, women, and a hell of a lot of anti-Trump republicans. Especially anti-Trump republican women.
Let trump have Pence.
We will see which candidate made the sound choice and made the best VP decision.

I have never voted Republican for President ever. I am thoroughly unimpressed and I have to add

Not work appropriate

That's based on his senate career of doing nothing. He has not got a single law passed he put up, I think 38 or so.
As gov he was for Abortion restrictions and other right sided ideas. And recently he penned letters asking for the loosening bank regulations for large banks. Let alone he does not want to legalize marijuana and wants to expand the military.

This pick by Clinton just proves what others have been saying about her, she is in the pocket of wall-street and does not care about anything but getting elected and money.

Good thing is this may help 3rd party Gary Johnson get 15+ and make the debates.

Sorry, I simply don't have the same faith you do in the Democrat electorate. They have proven time and time again that voting is something you do only when you have a candidate who is close to perfect.

Because a lot of that concern about jobs is lip service.

perfect example of that bullshit rhetoric along with we will retrain you for jobs that are not there or can be outsourced.

http://www.npr.org/2016/05/03/476485650/fact-check-hillary-clinton-and-coal-jobs

And then of course is the general hypocrisy of those for a clean environment in their backyard because they can dump their pollution on someone else's back because they don't want to pay for those goods and services made under those higher priced regulations

Like those that are concerned about climate change or the environment in general, believe in the right to unions, want 15 dollar an hour minimum wage and then turn around and buy made in China, under the poorest environmental, labor, safety conditions, and support free trade agreements that encourage that,

because it is cheaper than the American made product that is built under the more expensive rules and regulations they beat their drum to, and then some of them have the gall to blame Americans for their non-competitiveness.

He's definitely a slap in the face to Bernie supporters.
