Who'd win: Sauron vs. Yoda?

I shall join the group of people using logic who are saying that if a mere mortal man can cut off Sauron's hand with a sword that certainly Yoda, moving and jumping around at light-speed, could do it with a lightsaber.

Yeah, this one is pretty obvious. Yoda would just force grab Sauron's ring right off of his finger, and then dice him to bits with his lightsaber. I mean, we're talking Cuisinart, dude.

Besides, even Sauron's entire army is no match for a squadron of X-Wing starfighters!

Allright...easy way out...well sorta...it depends largely on one's interpretation of who/what Tom Bombadil is in Middle Earth or possibility of his role as simply representative of the reader...

Yoda is as "foreign" to Middle Earth as Tom Bombadil is, if not more so.

Just as the ring had no effect on Tom and Tom had no effect on the ring...Yoda cannot do anything to Sauron and Sauron cannot do anything to Yoda

So there. No definitive answer

Tom may have been the most powerful character in Middle Earth, but we dont know for sure. He certainly had no interest in conflict.

Sauron would mop the floor with that muppet! Let's see... Yoda would be toast (literally) if he went against a Balrog. Yet Balrog is no match to Sauron. Yoda would lose against Saruman, yet Saruman is no match to Sauron.

If yoda put on the ring he'd become Sauron's bitch...so he can't win that way...

Yoda is a powerful master of the force, in middle earth I would say he's akin to (at best) Gandalf or Saruman (though he's just a mortal that some neat tricks, not a Maiar so I'd rank him below them, but at very best he'd be their equal in middle earth). And neither of them can stand against Sauron.

Yoda would make the alliance a powerful ally in the battle against Sauron. He might very well be able to put Sauron back to "sleep". But defeat him, one on one? Never.

Jedi mind trick nothing. That doesn't even work on shop keeps It works on numbskull strom troopers and street peddlers...that's about it
