This isn't even a question. Yoda is from the future and Sauron is from the past. Middle-earth vs. Outer Space. The little green one all the way. Yoda has his light-saber. Sauron died from a normal sword, how could he even compete with the power of the force.

Sauron didn't die when they used Narsil to cut the ring off his hand. He was simply "knocked out", and needed time to recover. You can't kill Sauron until you destroy the ring. You can beat him for a short term.

Actually even destroying the ring wouldn't kill him...he'd be an insignificant shadow of his former self, but AFAIK his spirit would still exist. I am not sure if he could ever get himself back into physical form or not.

Fine, Sauron wouldn't die, but since Yoda is definately a very powerful being, he would take the ring and destroy it right away. I don't think that he is simple-minded enough to let the power of the ring take over his life. Yoda would just jump his little green a$$ up the mountain and throw it in the volcano. Yoda has to be a little more powerful than Frodo and i think he would handle it.

Who cares if Sauron's spirit lives. What the hell is his spirit going to do to you, taunt you for the rest of your life? "Boogy Boogy! I'm Sauron's spirit, i am going to taunt you until you go insane and die! Fear me!"

We are talking about one on one duel here, we are not talking about putting Yoda in the story. Yoda would never be able to take the ring in the first place. When will you understand that being a maiar is more powerful than the force Don't say that yoda would just use "force pull" to slip the ring off his finger, it doesn't work like that. Sauron could just resist it for one. Hell, look at Saruman in the movie...he does a little "force pull" on Gandalf and steals his staff. Saruman is also a Maiar, but no where near as powerful as Sauron.

Yoda is toast, and I could counter any arguement you could think of. so

I wasn't even talking to you, and I also said insignificant, which means he is useless. Where did I imply he'd be a threat in this form? Your attempt at humor is laughable at best BTW

<-- bad mood

the power of the ring would corrupt yoda. the reason the hobbits weren't corrupted like yoda or gandalf or galadriel would have been is that they didn't have power, didn't want it, didn't care for it, had no use for it. they were simply peasants who wanted nothing more than several meals a day and a nice mug of ale or cup of tea. yoda, not understanding the history of middle earth, would probably attempt to use the ring, and be corrupted by it, and then he would be 0|/|/n3d by sauron.

I never said anything about Yoda using the force at any point in time. I said he would use his light-saber. The force would be useless on Sauron, and i know this. so

The French were wrong about Dreyfus, and there were 30,000,000 million of them.

just consider this:

it took 2 people: Darth Vader and el Emperor to beat Yoda.

but it took the whole world to cut off Sauron's finger

eh?

just goes to show the masses are dumb
