How long does it take you to drain a single set of batteries? And is there a way to monitor the power levels in windows, or do you have to wait until the red light starts blinking and the cursor respondly poorly?

I just got the Logitech Cordless Elite MX Duo - where it comes with the black keyboard with a bunch of iTouch buttons.

When I first hooked up the mouse, the red light was blinking so I had to leave it in the charger for about 7 hours or so.

I received the package on Friday afternoon - so I suppose I used it for approximately 24 total hours so far and the battery level indicator in the mouseware 'Cordless' tab shows "Battery is good" so I suppose it goes longer.

I'll repost once the battery light blinks red again.

But anyways, there is a battery indicator in mouseware - although I consider it somewhat unreliable.

I think I once used my mouse for about 12 or 14 hours before the batteries finally gave out. I wouldn't say that's unreasonable. I mean, straight usage. I'm a freak, obviously.

Hmm, i only got 7 on my mx700s batteries. Either it was because they are 1700 mAH or not fully charged.

If i pick it up in the morning, iltl usually last till last thing the NEXT night under heavy usage....so say 20hrs usage during 36hrs off its cradle.

The batteries tend to work better if you fully charge them and fully deplete them a few times at the start.

Oh, and i should add that eeven when the light starts blinking the performance is still satisfactory, and ive even seen me use the mouse almost an entire day with the led blinking, so it has extra stamina

The MX700 RULES! I can go several days w/out recharging mine, although I usually recharge it daily. If you go to mouse properties, there is a tab labeled cordless that will tell you the state of your batteries.

Check this thread out too.

I've only had mine for a couple weeks, but I haven't had the red light come on. I just pop it in the cradle whenever I'm not using it, so it's always pretty well charged.

I've got a Logitech wireless keyboard/mice combo, but it runs on normal 2 normal batteries each.

With very heavy usage the mouse kills Duracell batteries in 1.5-2 months, but cheap batts in 3-4 weeks.

I complained to Logitech's Tech support and they said that if you use the mouse on a BLACK/semi-reflective surface it will improve life.

The keyboard lasts close to six months on fresh batts.

But I usually take the dead one's out of the mouse and put them in the keyboard. With those the keyboard will usually outlast the new batteries I replaced them with than the mouse.

I had a MX700 and the batteries seem to last me a couple days, using the computer about 4-5 hours a day. I just bought some seperate NiMH batteries for it, so I always had fresh batteries. I ended up taking it back last month because I felt that I wasnt getting my moneys worth, and gaming with even though very precise, the whole weight thing is a lot to get used to.

sounds like you have a pre MX logitech cordless. not comparable since those run at a lousy lousy 50hz. they get away with power saving easily. mx cordless is more about performance

i have a mx500, wired but i have many wireless ball and optical cordless logitechs, they have sh*tty refresh.
