After my first I posted here to say that it kicked my butt. But it only lasted for about a day.

This time, well, it's hard to say. Got the boost last Thursday and I didn't feel awful but did have a lot of chest congestion. I've never actually gotten a positive co-vid test but back in January I'm pretty sure I was sick 2 or 3 times. I tried to do a home test but it was the kind you need sync with your phone and once I did that it told me it had been recalled. But I had the same sort thick chest congestion I got this time. Make of that what you will.

Anyway, day one was just the beginning. I was living on guaifenesin until yesterday. Then I had to go my dentist to finish the first implant and got something to eat on the way home. Later that day it felt like I had food poisoning. You can always tell food poisoning since throwing up is only first stage. After that you just wretch and wretch even though there's nothing left. So up until Tuesday, I'm pretty sure the booster was the issue. But as of yesterday, it's impossible to tell.

Same as Boomer. Since it isn't free anymore, it's unlikely I'll get any boosters. I'm just watching. If a variant comes through that looks particularly bad, I could see buying a booster, but right now, I'm ok with how things are going.

Boosters are still free...or billed to your insurance company. You pay $0 out of pocket regardless.

no and not in a terrible hurry to have it.

As you know, i work with medical assistance for work - it's travel insurance, so anything from covid quarantine claims, to ski injuries, all the way to heart attacks.
We've see THOUSANDS of post-vaccine covid cases, and as far as i know, only 1 vaccinated person had to have medical assistance, everyone else who has had 2 doses or more winds up having no more problems than having to quarantine. Maybe a sore throat, maybe some muscular pain, but nobody winds up on the ventilator anymore, unless they are unvaccinated, or they have severe comorbidities.

As covid is a flu-like-virus, i'm expecting that the vaccine will have maximum effectiveness for at least 1 full year, then declining. So, eventually ill have a booster, but i suspect that the longer you hold off, the better off you are. (obviously if you go 2 years w/o, you might want to reconsider)

I wasn't charged @ CVS when I got my 2ed booster on 4/1 however I'm still covered by State Medicaid till the end of April so they may well have been billed Idk. (almost everything is 100% covered)

As for side-effects they were mild this time around and lasted maybe 48 hours. I requested Moderna for the 2ed booster since I already knew I wouldn't be likely to have a bad reaction.

The most annoying part of my second booster, was the staff at the pharmacy was slower than dirt in actually administering the shot. 30 minutes of sitting and waiting after I handed in my paperwork.

As for the dose... the arm was tender that evening, by morning I had forgotten about it.

if i want to have a booster, i go on the NHS (UK health authority) website, click on "order a booster" and they email me the appointment details. i go, i take my armsies out of my sleevies, and they do the shot. zero monies paid.
