Who's on Jellybean?

Has anyone been able to get Google Now to display cards about travel on upcoming trips? What I mean is I've seen demos where Google Now will display a card saying "travel to dentist appointment, medium traffic" and show you navigation, etc? I am very methodical about setting proper addresses for the location of my meetings/events because I am hoping Now will show me the cards but it hasn't so far.

What's interesting is the cards it does show me related to travel are things I searched for (as a test) but don't really want to go to. For example, I would say "Show me the nearest gas station." Then a few hours later, I see a new card pop up and it's navigation/directions to the gas station. What's strange is even if I wanted to go there, I would have activated navigation at the time of search. Why would I want active traffic conditions and navigation an hour later?

Closing and opening chrome is definitely not perfectly smooth for me. It gets worse when the site being opened is content heavy.

It's 99% smooth for me. But really all OS's have some slow downs, iOS included. I had a 4S for awhile, and it wasn't perfectly smooth at all times. The improvements in Jelly Bean are dramatic, and I'd never go back to ICS

I feel like UI smoothness is now at a point where its a non-issue, which is a great thing. I fully expect almost all of these remaining slowdowns to disappear on next generation ARM processors.

My phone feels outdated already.

If anything I would switch (back) to a windows phone if I cared that much about smoothness.

If he cared so much about smoothness, going back to a flip phone is the way to go. I have a 4S and it would be a lie to say everything is the model of smoothness on my phone. All of these devices have finite resources, at some point they are going to be maxed out.

I think any slowdowns, on JB, can be attributed to loading times rather than smoothness issues. They'll disappear with improvements to flash and ram speeds on phones.

I don't care enough to switch phones over it. But I do admit to being a bit disappointed at the intermittent slowdowns with all the hype that surrounded 4.1's release. I was hoping for WP levels or higher of "butteryness".

I wasn't being sarcastic. You came here an chimed in telling us how you aren't impressed with JB and Google still has a lot of work to do. Are you asking for specific advice or just complaining? I assume the latter. What sort of response did you want? I really do think it sucks that you are bummed about this release. Hopefully they can improve to your standards.

I'm waiting for the binaries for the Nexus S to come out before I install a Jelly Bean ROM. Need it as my daily driver.

new AOSP builds definitely removed some delay on launching apps.

oh thank god, i got into CWM, im reinstalling vanirbean v8.0.1

my battery died, and it wouldnt get past the google splash. but it did get into CWM



oh goodness, its still stuck at the google screen

There seem to be a few problems with the 4.1.1 roms so far. I think I'll hold off for a bit, I'm still on the initial leaked build with the wifi fix.

I don't really enjoy wiping and having to reinstall everything so I want my next rom to be more stable

Bugless Beast 4.1.1 is out, and seems to address the issues I've seen on the others.
