Someone on this site or another has been selling RAM at good prices and people are having good luck with it. I think it is Buffalo but I'm not certain? I used to have a link but I can't find it.
Anyone Know?

It's currently made using Winbond CH-5 chips, possibly BH-5 chips on the PC3700. The sticks of PC3200 I picked up from Newegg were CH-5.

I believe the CL3 chips are Infineon, the CL2.5 are Winbond (obviously, the better).

I have 2 sticks of HyperX 3500....Rev 012...Does anyone know what chips these are using and if they are any good? I'm planning on using it in a NF7-S....Any conflicts known?

I've heard some bad things about the HyperX but I'm not sure if I should trade these in or not.....Opinions?

You're referring to the HyperX 3500? What is your setup? What revision of the HyperX do you have?

Buffalo publishes the chips used on each part. They use Winbond, Samsung and Micron. Another one to look at is Kingston ValueRAM. For PC3200 they use a variety of chips for a given part number and you don't know unless looking at it but Winbond is one of them.

Has it been that price recently? 'Cause the $45ish price was from a couple months ago and I see the similar Kingston part which I purchased at that time has gone from $47 to $63 (yoinks!). I wouldn't be surprised if the Buffalo price is bumped when stock comes in but if it isn't then definitely jump on it. BTW, my Kingston has the Winbond chips but as said it is not specified like with that particular model of Buffalo (PC3200 CL2.5).

I just got a single stick today of the 512 mb Buffalo PC3200 Winbond DDR for $89 shipped. I do hope prices drop in a few months cause I'd like to add a second stick later.

Will any DDR that has a voltage spec of over 2.5v going to be overclocked?

In other words, are vendors/manufacturers (of over 2.5v DDR), selling memory that's being pushed to make a higher DDR rating?

A lot of the time, yes they are. Certainly the majority of the RAM that's sold as anything faster than PC3200 is using OCed 5ns chips. There are some exception but not too many yet. The same thing happened when PC3200 first came out, most "PC3200" RAM was actually OCed 6ns PC2700 chips. Same thing with PC2700>PC2100.
