Who's your favorite motherboard manufacturer?

there were a few hundred votes and asus won. epox and abit were up there too.

Been using ASUS for a few years now. My P4B266 has been flawless, but my dad's CUSL2 has had its flaws.

I may look into Gigabyte next time.

Supermicro is solely targetted towards servers/high end workstations.

In that regard, I'll take Supermicro over any of the regular boards any day, but of the consumer grade boards, I think I'd have to go with either Asus or MSI.

Depends. For PC's in an office environment, I'm Intel all the way. Stability, 3-year warranty, EASY RMA's (that you rarely need anyway).

For home/enthuseist - I probably have to vote Asus.

That's what I would have now if Intel didn't nicely give me a free 875 mobo and 3.2c chip.

A few years ago I would say Supermicro as those were always my favorite boards. I've owned MSI, Epox, Abit, Asus, Supermicro and Gigabyte.

I have a few other boards that I like for other reasons. Such as a Socket 7 Supermicro with a Pentium 200 MMX CPU which has run non-stop for 5+ years. I set this up for a friend as a POS terminal in his auto repair shop and the only time it gets shut off is during a power failure. Not trying to hijack this thread, just an interesting experience.

I'm not sure if its a lucky thing. Many of the boards I've used or played with that are MSI branded have had little annoying quirks. Certain component placement, ie tricy IDe placement and such. Little speed deficiencies I've seen in comparison with like boards from diferent makers. Issues with stability with mild oc's.

They just leave a bad taste in my mouth. But that's just my .02 of course.
