I guess political arguments are easy for those with no original ideas. You don't actually have to think, you simply have to rebuke those who oppose your own views which you don't completely understand.

Lets argue something with merit; something that we can actually validate.

I think these comments are harsh and more than a little unfair and arrogant. Surely the nature of politics is to argue... and whether you agree with peoples argument or think them original is irrelevant. At least the people who make them are making an effort to show an interest rather than some slack-jawed idiot who couldnt give a damn about current affairs and thinks no further than his next meal.

So basically youre just showing yourself to be more than a little ignorant and offensive by claiming that everyones elses argument is "unoriginal and unmerited". Personally, Id lose the rather unjustified self-superior attitude. Its a free world...

Rant over, lol

They usually avoid getting into arguements with me...because I think too independantly for them.

The fact that you've got siblings who evidently cannot argue their way out of a paper bag doesn't actually support your inflated ego. I'll give you this, you're the smartest rock in the bag.

It's been said there are no original ideas left.
But that doesn't change the fact that yours is a biased and false opinion.

Oh, is that a fact?

Would you prefer I said it was an ignorant overly broad generalization?

Thank you for your opinion. I'll take that into consideration.

If we didn't debate political issues, there would be no point (to politics). We might as well be ruled by a dictator.

Thanks for the honest opinion. I can kinda see why it might have come off as arrogant. Perhaps the generalization was indeed too broad; however, I believe it to be largely true in these threads, and related discussion on other boards.

It seems people would rather continue arguing politics rather than argue about why they argue.....

i dont think we have ever found a topic that everyone supported.

Wouldn't life be boring if everyone agreed on everything?

YES!

Because the subject is there. I just treat it as a fun little diversion. It's a game.
