On the plus side (provided that one remembers this particular YouTuber's handle), then if one is looking for useful content on a particular topic and this guy's videos come up in the results, you know not to waste time on them.
You can hide a channel on YouTube without need for remembering (who wants to THAT? why do you think i drink?!) and without addons. Click the menu dots next to the video and select "do not recommend". 99% sure this hides from your search to.
YouTube has a lot of attitude problems, many of them stemming from it's ability to remember everything. For example, try disabling watch history, the passive aggressive behavior kicks in immediately. Or search for something and watch how many times it pushes those worthless Shorts into your eyeballs... on a desktop browser.Maybe YouTube has problems remembering due to drinking as well.
I wonder if it is mismanagement (new features must be pushed on platforms where it makes little sense to meet KPIs) or laziness (who cares about desktop and TV) or complete disdain for their users (they will stay and eat from the TikTok-like trough if they start with one short video so we need to push them toward it). Or maybe it is something else.pushes those worthless Shorts into your eyeballs... on a desktop browser.

Yeah, I can't permanently disable shorts. If I wanted Tik-tok videos, I'd go to Tik-tok.YouTube has a lot of attitude problems, many of them stemming from it's ability to remember everything.
