Why India's rape crisis?

I don't condone abuse on any level. However, things like this are shocking (to me at least).

My own reasoning here is a few major factors cause this:

- Caste
- Spirituality (,i.e. who gives a shit what happens? It's your karma, get over it)
- A lack of education. Some still believe that revealing clothes induces men to rape.

It is not so much that India has a problem with rape as it has a problem with crime.

Certain people have an interest in portraying this as a problem with "violence against women" so they can push their feminist agenda.

Even the most well known rape story involved a woman AND A MAN being assaulted by a group of thugs. Good luck explaining how a story involving a woman and a man being assaulted shows how their is a violence against women problem. Sounds more like a violence against people problem.

Its part of the reason why India tends to smell like shit everywhere you go...The people also love to stare, especially if you are western, expect to be stared at by everyone.
