Perhaps a more open minded appreciation of life would help. You might slip in the bath tub, fall through the glass door and bleed to death. You might die of West Nile virus. You could get hit by a car. Somebody trying to kill themselves may land on you as you walk under a tall building. An asteroid might create a 1000 foot wave of rock to wash over your head. You could get your foot stuck in a railroad switch with the train coming, and a number of other things. You need to expand your thinking so you can live in a permanent state of terror about everything.
