why morpheus?

I just downloaded it and tried it... its for the most part slow, and i havnt been able to get a full song out of anyone. why does everyone love it?

i have yet to find an imcomplete on it! Then again, i always pick the song with the most files with near the same size, same bitrate from different sources.

I totally recommend it over WinMX I can find everything I'm looking for have you tried the registry setting to get over 128 bit rate on audio songs this is if you are using version 1.3
This is a registry entry.

Start-Run and type regedit. (if you didn't already know)

Look for a DWORD entry titled LimitBitrate.

You can do a search for it or you can find it under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Morpheus

It should be the only entry IN Morpheus, not under it.

Right click on this and change the value from 1 to 0 and you should now be able to find songs with bitrates well above 128.

Then to change the maximum search number returned try this
Go to \HKEY_CURRENT _USER\Software\Morpheus\Advanced
Look for the DWORD entry MaxSearchResult

I put mine at 300 I returned 215 or so most times with popular artists much better than the default 50.

Morpheus is alright, but for mp3, I still have the best success with AudioGalaxy.

I recently installed and tried Morpheus. I got the same experience I did with the other file sharing programs. Slow connections, lack of variety, loads of sexually explicit files (sometimes I just don't wanna see it). I guess the mp3s I'm looking are just too unpopular.

I'll just have to wait for the next best thing...

I have yet to really have much of a problem getting a download and I download some pretty obscure songs (trying to download many of my favorite bands from the eighties that I only have on cassette.)

I've had great luck with it! And I'm on dial-up.

Yeah, sometimes it's kinda slow, but it eventually works, even with mp3s that don't have a plus by them. I've even found some obscure stuff.

I havent had a problem with morpheus been pretty good to me, the only problem i have is the search is pretty limited to 100 results so you get tons of dups and cant search by speed.

What is interesting is how it downloads from mulitple users at the same time. I like it or mp3s. I just wish I could limit bitrates and speed and such...

morpheus is awesome.

you dont need to edit the registry to find songs with 128+ bitrate. Just click on the "search", then click "Audio", then "more search options".

Under the "Quality" checkbox, pick any bitrate between 20 and 320 kbps.

Yeah, unless you have BroadBand it slowed down my normal 2kb/sec download to like 500b/sec
