They sure think so! They're loving having the twins right now and luckily they're both in great health. My dad hiked rim to rim with me in the grand canyon 2 years ago and did just as well as I did. Having the young kids isn't going to delay their retirement, they could retire tomorrow if they wanted.

Just found out my wife is pregnant. We have two kids that are soon to be 9 and 6... we are both 31. Didn't really plan on this but overall it isn't a bad thing...could be worse, right? I was hoping to retire in 12 years when my kiddos graduated high school...seems as though I will have to push that back a little.

Anyone else have surprise kids late in their marriage?

Wife and I had kid #1 when we were both 32, and kid #2 at 35. We have lots of friends who started having kids in their late 30s. So you are still fairly yound, IMO.

Kids are great, but they do force you to put them before you. I definitely understanf how another 6 years would be a tough pill to swallow, especially if you were not planning on kid #3.

NOthing wrong with having older parents. My dad was born in 1933 and had me when he was 44. He is almost 80 now, but I wouldn't trade my time with him for anything. His life story is frickin amazing. He has the most incredible stories about WWII.

Yah...was thinking about having her get a tubal ligation. I dunno... I do work for pretty much every physician office in town...would be weird to get it snipped locally since I already have a professional relationship with the docs that do it.
