WiFi card for old laptop

I have this 333Mhz laptop that my sister uses and i wanted to get a PCMCIA wifi card for her. NetGear's site says that the card is a cardbus II that supports cpu's 400mhz or higher, so is this a no-go?

I tried using a PCI Wi-Fi card with a PII-300 and it was a no-go. Netgear says it has to be a PIII at least. My guess is the laptop would provide the same results. Maybe someone else can provide a better option or suggestion.

Cardbus is 16-bit. The olkder laptops has Card=Socket Services (8 bit) and can't use Cardbus devices.

All that matters is whether the laptop supports cardbus specs. I had an Omnibook 800CT, with a P133 processor, cardbus enabled ports, under win98 and it worked fine with the two modern cardbus wireless nic's I had; one was a neatgear and the other some cheap generic taiwan brand. Cardbus started being common around the P166 era. In some older laptops, you may have to enable cardbus within the bios. You can easily check if your system supports cardbus by looking into the device manager -- look under PCMCIA devices and you should see the driver loaded, it will specifically state cardbus somewhere in there.

vegetation is correct. I have an EDIMax Cardbus WiFi card, it works fine on my old Toshiba 225CDS Laptop with P133 CPU and Windows 98. Not all real old Laptops have a Cardbus Slot but anything I would say 233MMX and up should and obviously some even older ones like my old Toshiba do. I have an IBM Thinkpad 770 233MMX and it's cardbus as was my Compaq Presario 1650 PII 266 and my Thinkpad 770x with PII 300. I am sure your 333 Mhz would work just fine since EDIMax 802.11b seems to work great on my lowly old Toshiba P133!!!
