Wifi Security Cam needed

Hi Guys,

I have various Foscam-type (some are offbrand) pan/tilt cameras throughout my house. They're ok. Nothing special, but they do the job for remote monitoring.

however, I still don't have my front patio covered by a camera, and I need to change that.

Fortunately, in the ceiling corner on the front patio, there's an outdoor outlet tucked nicely out of view and away from the weather. There's no ethernet, nor am I in a position to run a cable there, so I'll have to use wifi.

Expanded thoughts on requirements.

I want to get a nice, HD camera setup that works very well at night and has a nice, wide viewing angle.

This camera is less about active monitoring and more about capturing everything that happens in front of my house and on my porch. I wouldn't mind pan/tilt, but because of where it will be located, if the viewing angle is wide enough, I won't need pan/tilt. I'd rather have a fixed view that captures everything I need.

I want it to have local storage so it can continually record to the local storage and just overwrite old video once it runs out of space (like a dash cam).

I need excellent night vision and a sensor that can handle various lighting situations. Ie.. turning on/off our front porch lights shouldn't kill the footage.

Some kind of battery backup would be nice, but not a requirement.

Ubiquiti Unifi G3 is a good option. Has an option for an infrared extender as well. Also creating your own video storage server is a snap if you have a computer with decent specs. The camera can also livecast to youtube within the camera and no extra software. I have two units on the outside of my house and then I also use two more to keep an eye on my reef tank when I am away.

Looks pretty good at first glance. How is it powered? I don't see a power adapter.

I've used cameras from Lorex like these indoors:

They have others that might work outdoors. They are wifi and 720p with a built in microSD card. The ones I worked with could stream directly to a NAS share. I had 3 of them in my Mom's home going to a NAS all wireless.

Their software at the time really sucked, and wan't full featured on a mac. But it did work.

Search Reolink on Amazon. If have 6 of their Poe cameras but they have wireless too I think.
