Heard on the news that Napster will start back up again this summer and charge a flat fee for downloading music. I guess the fee hasn't been disclosed yet but depending on the fee would you pay for Napster?

I probably would. Like if it was $20 a year or something like that I think it is worth it.

If it were $20 a year for UNLIMITED and UNRESTRICTED usage...sure, I'd pay that.

Yes, I would also pay a flat fee for unrestricted use, especially if this meant better servers, no ads, etc.

I remember back in the day, (6 months ago) when you could d/l just about anything you wanted. I logged on and, 2,140 gigs available. No problem, everybody could get everything. Now logged on today. 243 gigs. THATS NOT EVEN A TERABYTE. Lousy filters clogging up our previoulsy unrestricted, fast, free source of illegal copyrighted material.....................................................

I would only do it if there were a guaranteed base, and if it were for completely unrestricted access.

I would be too scared that no one would pay that would have the music I wanted.

Yeah, I think if we're gonna have to pay, they should offer mp3s on their servers. They paid for the rights for them, they should also give up some bandwidth and offer some at fast speeds.

Is this the future of the music industry? I think so. I reckon CD's will be obsolete within 10 years. All music at your fingertips sounds like a great idea.

This will be the future of music.

I don't think so. Most mp3s on Napster ARE NOT the same quality of CDs. I wouldn't pay the same price for an mp3 that I would for an CD knowing this. There would have to be a standard that could be followed so that ALL mp3s are the SAME quality and match their CD counterparts.

Do the letters NO mean anything to you, Napster will still ban songs they aren't licencesed to use and Morpheus is way better since it downloads from mutliple users and its FREE

It's too late, Napster already dead. If I were to pay for it, I sure as hell wouldn't let others leech off of me. Anyways, Morpheus-->46,000+ GB right now=

I like Morepheus, but the software doesn't seem as well written as Napster. I could be wrong, I'm not a programmer, but it doesn't seem to run as smoothly.

True, but I think that these concerns will be ironed out after time.

Of course because technology will progress and either mp3s will get better or hard drives and connections will get better and we'll move onto another format.

Not a chance.

Not much is available on there anymore, certainly not worth paying for.
