Willamette P4 Temps

I just put together a system about a week ago, and am a little bit worried about the typical operating temperatures. My last system was a modest AMD Athlon that ran very cool (if you can believe that) for me. The system I just built has an Intel Pentium IV 1.6GHz Socket 423 Processor with an ECS P4S5A2 Motherboard. I used the heatsink and fan that came boxed with the processor, as well as the thermal gel from the box.

Idle...
- Power: 91f (33c)
- CPU: 91f (33c)
- System 82f (27c)
- CPU Fan: 2519rpm

Load...
- Power: 97f (36c)
- CPU: 134f (57c)
- System: 92f (33c)
- CPU Fan: 2596rpm

I am using three case fans. One is in the front pulling air in. The second is in the back (I think an 80mm) pushing air out. And the third is built into the side of the case pushing air in, towards the CPU. One thing I know abou the CPU fan is that it is a variable speed fan that increases flow as incoming temperature of air increases. I feel that 134f (57c) under load seems a bit high, especially after comparing some results from other members here on the forum. However, I am relatively new to building computers (I apologize for my insolence in advance), and am not too familar with proper cooling for these faster CPUs. I would appreciate any advice, thoughts, concerns, or similar temperature stories with relation to my CPU. Thank you very much!

well not sure my self on the exact temperatures you want to be at, but here's what i get....

p4 1.6a@1.6a, Reatail hs/fan, closed 21"case, 2 - 80mm fans sucking air out

idle
cpu 30 c
mb 30c

load
cpu 38 c
mb 31 c

hopefully this helped some

also u have an older p4 socket 423 chip, maybe those run hotter then the 1.6 a's

You could theoretically calculate them by getting the Wattage here and then the C/W for the HSF here. Although this is in theory and may not be exactly what you have.
