Here's the problem: I try to install Windows 2000 Pro. I put the CD in, get into the blue-background install thingy, set the drive to install to, yadda yadda, setup copies files over. Then it gets to the part where it reboots so you can continue with the GUI part of the install, right? It reboots, says to press any key to boot from CD (I don't hit any keys), then hangs at a blinking cursor. Just waits.
I've tried everything I can think of. I tried changing my boot order (disabling CD boot), ran 10 loops of MemTest86 on c-1-2-2-3-0 (all passed), ran chkdsk /p (hard drive totally okay), ... what else can I do? I always end up hanging at the flashing cursor when it should be going into the GUI part of the install.
I tried searching MSKB and Google, but I couldn't find anything on my problem.
System specs:
Gigabyte GA-7VKMP motherboard, 512 MB PC2100, 2 HDs: 60 GB and 120 GB, Athlon XP 2000+.
Any help/ ideas appreciated! TIA
