Win 2000 shutdown problems

Windows 2000 simply refuses to shut down properly. It either hangs or (most often) just reboots itself. Any suggestions?

Right click My Computer and select "Manage"
Select "Event Viewer" and check out the Application and System Logs.
If you have any ERROR or WARNING events, this could be your problem.
Write down the source and event ID number and visit Event ID, do a search on your ID number and they will send you in the right direction to hopefully fix your problem.

Do you have any USB devices. There were some AMD motherboards that had problems with USB Mice.
