What or Why does the old DOS black screen not stay up for a answer or viewing when I (say use):

dsncmd.exe
or
anything that requires a view after running??

Because you are telling Windows to run a command and it does it. Once the program completed, Windows closed the window.

Type "cmd" at the run window and then type the command you want to see the results of.

You can create a batch file with the command pause at the end of it. Can't think of anything else offhand.

no no.
Just type command.com un RUN section and type all your commands from there.
They will "stay" and you will be able to actually READ what the program writes on the screen.

Cmd works better for me...

just type command in the run box and type in your actual DOS command in the command window. That always works for me (no pop up screen that disappears faster than you can blink your eyes).

command.com = DOS
cmd.exe = Windows 32-bit command prompt (built-in command history, resizable window/buffer, window closes properly, runs better.)

If you are executing from Start | Run, try this

cmd /k myprogram.exe

The /k parameter will leave the cmd window open.
