Win2k Voodoo 3 Gaming

I'm using windows 2000 and a voodoo 3 2000 video card, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on which drivers to use to get the best performance in gaming and in normal usage. I notice that there are a lot of addons and 3rd party drivers, but would like to get an idea of how they work before I go and start messing with my stable system. Anyone got any experience or any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat as you... A month ago I had a steller driver! Counter-Strike got choppy after a few rounds (but it always does that), but graphics in games like Diablo2 were smooth as hell. I had to format, and I seem to have lost the driver, and can't find it... And I'm sure you've looked at VoodooFiles.

I would recommend www.x3dfx.com. I don't think they make any new drivers, but the ones they got are pretty good.

thanks for info both you of you.. right now im using a stardard 3dfx driver.. i guess ill have to just download some of the other ones and experiment for myself to figure out which ones work for what stuff..

switch to win98 and get free 20% increase in fps! ( just a recommendation.) buy an nvidia card. they dont suffer from the win2k reduction in performance.

yeh but i leave my computer on for weeks at a time.. having a machine thats a great gaming machine for 50 minutes aday isnt a viable solution.
