I've been using Win7 RC at work and love it so far. I just don't like the default background that appears when you lock the workstation, that's all.

No biggie, just want to see if anyone has successfully changed this without the use of a 3rd party app.

Thanks,

You have to create a DWORD value called OEMBackground in the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background key. The value needs to be set to 1.
You then need to have a JPG image called backgroundDefault.jpg in %WINDIR%\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds\. The default background image will be stretched to fit the screen. If you want to use a wallpaper to fit a specific resolution the following file names are also acceptable to use in the folder. I just use backgroundDefault.jpg and make it the same size as my native resolution.

backgroundDefault.jpg

background900×1440.jpg
background960×1280.jpg
background1024×1280.jpg

Sorry to dredge this one out of the archives, but...
The LogOn screen background is not the same one used on the session lock screen.
eg.: on my Lenovo laptop, the login background is a Lenovo branded one, while the session lock screen is a Windows 7 branded screen.

The LogOn screen is changable as above, but I can't find any way to change the session lock screen.
Anyone?

Oops, disregard.
Didn't set the reg key, looks like lenovo's doing something weird for their OEM screen.

I am following all the steps mentioned above but it is not working. It keeps reverting to the WIN 7 default instead of the one that I use. Any ideas?
