Not really off topic, but a combo of topics. Chips and Boards.
I know that there have been other posts about people having problems getting these to work together. These have been mainly with the MSI Neo4-F. But, I have found other posts and messages that have stated some DFI ( the king of o/c-ing ) mobos with the nF4 chipset is having the same issues. ( No o/c past 219 ) Also with the Neo4-Plat. etc. etc.
All of these boards have then nForce4 ( Standard and Ultra )
Has anyone heard/read anything else like that? ( other than here )
Now, everyone can pass the blame around, but is it an AMD issue, or nVidia?
I can't get a direct answer from MSI or AMD.
Sounds kinda like a chipset incompatability. But, then you can say: The manufacturers state that these products aren't guaranteed to run past stock configs. BS. If that was the case then, they wouldn't go to all the trouble to put the o/c-ing features into the boards and advertise all of that.
My point is, if there IS a problem, we ( the consumers ) need to know, so that we don't buy something that isn't going to work properly. Also, so we can stop beating our heads against the desk. Not to mention, buying other h/w trying to get the stupid problem fixed.
Maybe a vent session, but this IS pretty big. If ya feel the same way, then speak up.
