Windows 2000 Xperts

I'm using a P2V motherboard and is having trouble installing windows2000.
During the text phase installation(blue screen) went fine, but once it gets to graphic phase, the install would go forward at "setup is configuring your devices" dialogic box, the harddisk is still moving, it did not hang, but install just wouldn't move forward.

Flash bios to any latest version that may fix anything to deal with the southbridge/northbridge. By doing this, you'll have to redo some bios settings which shouldn't be a problem. Once that is finished, pull out any pci cards and leave just your video card. On ide chain, leave hard drive/ cdrom seperately on each channel. How old is your hard drive? ata66/100? Is it loosing any integrity, any bad clusters/sectors? Wipe out the hard drive using Fdisk or diagnosis utility by manufacturer of hard drive. Make sure you have a good copy of Win2k. But if hard drive is still flashin', it does mean that there's something going on in there, which may be 1) slow hard drive/system may take awhile for it to finish installing or 2) hard drive is going bizerks (run some diagnosis utillity by brand of hard drive) hope this helps...

hi thanks, i've flashed my bios and i'm using a brand new HD which works at my other computer, but windos 200 just can't seen to continue, any other ideas?
