I've been looking through the archives and no one has mentioned this so I'm wondering if there's a problem. After my CPU boots up an egg timer sits next to the pointer for about 45 seconds and then goes away. I can still select Start etc so it's not a problem but I've never seen this occur with any other OS including 98 (1st ed) and XP on the very same CPU. This is a fresh install and has done it from the very first boot when I've had nothing but a video card installed with default VGA drivers (updating to the correct video drivers made no change). I've looked into all the background programs and tried disabling them one by one and it stems from Systray. Is this quirk consistent with other peoples experience?
