So I went to restart my computer and windows would not reboot. It just hung after the windows xp pro splash screen. Then I reset my computer, tried to boot into safe mode, but no go, it hung up on a xxxvga.sys file I believe. So third time, restart with last known good configuration and it works but is back to default 640x480 resolution. I ran a check disk on my drive to see if it was my hd, but that passed, SMART is good, played a game, all normal temps, everything seems to be ok. Any ideas on why this happened or what it could possibly be? All I did today was burn a few dvds and erase a few dvds with Nero. I have Norton AV and internet security running in the background, along with my asus system scan. Programs that I had running all day were mIRC, AIM, history sweeper, and a few others. I scanned for spyware and found none. Also a virus scan turned up negative. Any ideas at all? Sorry for the long post.
Oh, also Norton AV will run a virus scan randomly when I do not have any scheduled or anything, I find this really odd, but it hasnt caused any problems or anything. It seems to do this when it runs live update by itself, but I am not totally sure. Thanks for any help.
