Well, the title of this post pretty much sums it all up. I was having some trouble with windows earlier today (it would freeze almost instantly upon startup, unless i was in safemode) so I put in my old windows XP SP1 (yes, i still use SP1) disk and chose the "repair" option. After windows was done reinstalling I hadn't lost any of my old accounts so I didn't have to go threw any new-user crap, but I realized my moniter was screwing up, so I went to turn up my hertz, realizing that windows hadnt detected my graphics card, or my monitor (it is locked at default moniter). I've even tried switching pieces of hardware, but no luck. It just marks everything as default. I tried manually installing my Nvidia drivers just so i could stop this horrid flickering effect, but it gave me an error that basically said it couldnt find a card that was marked Nvidia (allthough I have a 6800). I can't even install my chipset drivers! The only driver that did survive the "repair" is my soundcard driver...which is pretty much useless. I would have already formatted, but I have tons of files, and nowhere to put them. Any help would be helpful
