Windows XP and MX300

I just got the Logitech MX300 mouse. I want to use the drivers that come with windows, because the logitech drivers are too laggy when scrolling on webpages and stuff. But the problem is that the mouse has this little button right below the left and right buttons. Using the default windows drivers, that button functions as the back button on a web browser, and this is really annoying, because I always hit it be mistake. Is there any way to disable this button?

As far as I know, you can't disable the buttons on each side of the MX300.

Are you using the latest Logitech drivers? Using them with my MX300 and I don't notice any lag in games or web browsing.
